If you are looking for a graphic design job you will notice that the required skills for most jobs are to know how to use the basic design software. So if you do not know how to use them then most likely you won’t get the Graphic Design job you have always dreamed of.
But i'm assuming that since you are looking for a graphic design job that you are either in school for graphic design, already have a degree for graphic design, or will be pursuing a degree in the future.
So no worries!
Every school will teach you these design applications in order to prepare you for the real world. Typically, the first few classes you take will be dedicated to learning a specific program. For instance, I had a class that just focused on Photoshop, a class that just focused on Illustrator, and a class that just focused on InDesign. Once your final year arrives they expect you to know how to use all of these applications so the courses typically are not specific to one application. Instead, you should know which application to use for whatever you are designer.
Here are just a few of the most important Adobe applications that you will learn and should know how to use.

InDesign is used for creating and editing all sorts of visual materials, such as, posters, magazines, brochures, advertisements, etc. InDesign happens to be my favorite program mainly because my favorite things to design include all of those that I just mentioned.

Illustrator is used for creating vector images which are high-quality images that are able to be scaled up and down without losing the quality of the image. So it is used to create logos, charts, illustrations, etc.

Photoshop is used to edit and manipulate photos and even create your very own graphic. It is a professional-level editing application that has the same features as less advanced applications like cropping, editing, color-correcting, and re-sizing. However, there are many other tools in Photoshop that you will need to learn.
Once you have mastered these applications, you can now add these onto your resume as skills that you have.
Now there is no worrying about not getting into your dream job!
Good luck!
