#solitudechallenge

ree

The solitude challenge is when you sit and reflect for 30 minutes without doing anything. Yup. You read that correctly. You can do NOTHING for 30 minutes. It is meant for you to take a minute to yourself and remind yourself of the importance of not constantly being connected.

As college students we don’t typically get much time to ourselves because we are either going to class, doing homework, or working. While also keeping a social life and staying connected with family and friends.

So to take time to do this challenge every now and then could help you become less stressed, more relaxed, and more focused and motivated.

I decided to take 30 minutes away from doing homework and sitting on my phone. I got comfortable, laid down, and slowly relaxed my eyes. I tried not to think about work or school since the point of this was to relax and not stress. Instead, I let my mind wonder. It was sort of like meditating where I was checking in with my body to see how I was feeling.

30 minutes later…

I opened my eyes, sat back up, and I felt like a new person. I was relaxed and I felt stress free. I felt that I could go do my homework with more concentration and motivation.

So I strongly suggest that everyone should take time to do this in their daily routine. It will make you feel a lot better.
